4 sightings last weekend, kinda disappointing because the potential was there for many more on a busy Saturday night that produced no sightings. But still I'll finish September with 19 sightings to make it the year's top sightings month for the 2nd straight year, the 3rd time September has been a year's top sightings month - and once again the only month where I exceeded my monthly sightings average (17.7). 82 sightings for the year, ahead of last year's 78 at the end of September. Considering I was finished with my sightings last year in mid-November because of snow and cold the rest of the year and ended up 5 short of 100, now it looks promising I can get there again this year as both August and September did well enough to make the final run to the finish line interesting. 18 sightings in October is possible (although not likely), if I'm in the 90's come November I'll go out during those last 2 months to get my 100 again - that's just my traditional mark of a good year of sightings.
No shots for the month so I remain at just 1 shot for the year. Last year on this weekend I snapped the year's 5th and final shot (9-29-07, desp 237), that seems like a big picture year compared to how this year has gone and that's too bad, because the quality of that shot - a stream shot - is below what my new camera can do with those kind of scenes. This new camera's only negative is it hasn't brought me any luck in getting good sightings scenes to snap! Why is there now more peeing among the ladies in the mostly smaller September crowds in recent years compared to the bigger crowds during the summer months?
The atmosphere was really relaxed this month while the last few summers have been tense because rowdiness and police calls were increased, the laid-back September atmosphere made more ladies feel comfortable peeing outside and I have to include the Oktoberfest factor, I'm now seeing the most tense desperation scenes and biggest pisses from September ladies with bladders full of Oktoberfest beer. Oktoberfest's 2nd weekend was a bust. No ladies used outdoor spots either night, the Friday night crowd was so small I left there earlier, Saturday night had a much bigger crowd. I walked by the parking lot areas where the Oktoberfest sightings came last weekend, migrating down to what I thought was a club on the next block since a lot of people were around the building and in it's parking lot. Turns out it was a homeless shelter, I recognized it once I got there as I've driven by the front of the building many times in recent years. I know homelessness is a growing problem these days, but wow: I was hit on several times on that block for drug deals and offers to buy stolen items within a few minutes, convincing me that a lot of those people have no desire to walk a straight line and be productive members of society and will always be chronically homeless. There's a big difference between hard-working people down on their luck and people like this, cops don't even arrest these people because there's nothing to get out of them and they know putting them in jail would be an upgrade over their street lives and they don't want to help them. That's the un-publicized version of homelessness, what do you do with people like that?
Another nice weekend with night temps in the low 60's both nights. All 4 of my sightings came on the smaller Friday night, Saturday night was so frustrating because it was the 2nd biggest crowd I counted (behind last Saturday night): so many ladies walking around and none of them would pee and I did see several who needed to! On to the stories:
Saturday, 1:38 a.m. - Walking by a corner Irish bar and going down to the next corner I saw 2 ladies in the corner parking lot across the street. They were going to a driveway ramp beside the building next to the parking lot, a U-Haul type truck and dumpster and building supplies are back there. Both ladies were mid-20's and slim, above average height wearing tight jeans with lady 1 having long blonde hair and lady 2 long black hair. They stopped by the railing at the driveway entrance, the blonde staying there while the brunette went down the driveway by the truck. I crossed the street to the lot with the blonde staring at me, in front of the sloped driveway ramp I could see the brunette's head as she was squatted down pissing on the far end (my side) of the dumpster near the back wall of the driveway, I started heading over there carefully as the blonde was now looking away from me. Still some 40 feet away the brunette finished pissing and stood up and pulled up her jeans and started walking out. I went to the sidewalk outside the lot at that end, heard footsteps as the ladies were coming my way. "Excuse me!" one of them said. I turned around and there they were, asking me for directions to somewhere nearby. The brunette who just peed was doing the talking, I wanted to say to her, "Did you just pee over there?" but didn't. They walked off, I went over to the driveway ramp and saw her above average sized puddle by the dumpster.
1:47 a.m. - A block north of there at the 1-level parking garage people were now entering the parking lot on the corner next to it coming from the warehouse dance club east of there. A 20's Hispanic couple and 2nd lady stopped at the alley behind the parking lot, the 2nd lady - below-shoulder black hair, petite with medium build wearing a denim flared short skirt, sweater and clunky sandals carrying a short-strapped black purse - hurried off down the alley while the couple waited at that end. I knew she was going to pee the way she was looking around at the ground behind things, she suddenly ran to 2 cars parked in the row by the alley and between them. I entered the lot heading towards there, hesitant about getting out the camera. But it didn't matter, as I got to the cars and looked between them she had just finished and stood up and quickly pulled up her panties and was pulling her skirt back down, about a 10 second piss so I just missed seeing it. Her back was to me so she never saw me, a small puddle was behind her feet. Pulling her skirt back into place she walked out, trying to look dignified like she didn't just pee by parked cars.
2:03 a.m. - At the bars across the street from the RTD block's southeast end, 3 guys and a lady came out and went into the corner parking lot next to the 1st bar. They were hippie types, the lady petite with short blonde hair wearing tight jeans and a navy tee shirt. They went through the lot to the alley, instead of turning out to the sidewalk they went into the alley! I crossed the street and went into the lot back to the alley, immediately saw the 3 guys scattered nearby peeing; where was the lady? I went to the sidewalk outside the alley and waited, about 30 seconds later the lady emerged from behind a building about 2 buildings down and walked over to the waiting guys, everyone in the group left the bar needing to pee.
2:24 a.m. - At the corner of the block across the street northeast of the RTD block a group had been there for awhile, where people usually try to flag down cabs. This is where the corner stairway is leading down to basement level office buildings where people sometimes go down and pee (like desp 158 in my website sample album). After awhile I noticed a guy had moved over to stand guard in front of the stairs, after about a minute he moved as 2 ladies came up the stairs from behind him. "I had to use the bathroom!" the 1st lady coming up said to another lady in the group wondering why she went down the steps. She was chubby with short blonde hair wearing light blue pants, after the group left I looked over the railing and saw a wet area of pee in a back corner under the steps.
Lady-counts: only Friday night's counts were relevant since nobody peed Saturday night. Friday night's 4 ladies were 8.4 tenths of 1 percent of the late-hour ladies, since doing my counts 42 ladies have peed on 18 nights and there have been 6 nights where no ladies have peed. My average nightly count of late-hour ladies on the nights I get sightings is 442.6, the 42 who peed are 5.3 tenths of 1 percent of them. I did go over the 10,000 mark last weekend in my total lady counts, it's now 10,568 ladies over 48 nights during the prime-time late sightings hours.
October preview: The month has 199 sightings and 20 shots in it's previous 15 years, averages of 13.3 sightings and 1.3 shots that rank it 5th in both categories behind the 3 summer months and September. Bests for the month are 24 sightings (twice) and 4 shots, worst is 4 sightings and no shots, last year I had 11 sightings and no shots. October averages 4 fewer sightings than September, a total now of 86 fewer sightings than September. It's been a good sightings month most years, the last 2 years bad weather brought my totals down to 4 and 11 sightings as I was only able to get out for 2 October weekends those years. Halloween does fall on a Friday night this year at month's end, it's the final special event of the year and should be good if the weather is OK: Halloween in recent years has become more popular as people are ready to be someone else for a night! 11 or more sightings is my hope for this month, ideally 18 so I get to 100 this month and I have to acknowledge some of the sightings difficulty this year is ladies going into the RTD building during that last late hour to use the bathroom, which probably has cost me around 20 sightings and will probably snatch a few more in October. On average I have 84% of a year's sightings by the start of October, which this year projects to finishing with 97 sightings for the year.
